Moving On!

Okay guys,  I am moving on to memorize the book of Mark.

I will be starting a blog on this endeavor as well, because it sure is fun to look back at all you have done, the battles and especially the victories.

If any of you want to join me as I venture through the book of Mark, follow the link, or go to my profile and select the book of Mark.

  1. How long did it take you to memorize the book of John? I am going to begin memorizing soon and plan to challenge my church congregation to do the same. I'm starting my own blog recording my experience and will add a link to yours.

    1. Unfortunately,I never did. But like I said, I am super excited to see that you're going to Start memorizing the book of John.

You mentioned that you were going to ask members of your church to join with you in your project, did you get any response yet? I really hope you do.

I'll make a deal with you though. For every verse you memorize, I will memorize one as well.

That could be fun and encouraging, How does that sound?

An alternative or in conjunction with that, is, you can go to http://www.memverse.com

There are many people there who are into memorizing. And although you can even start a specific group for certain memory projects, like the book of John for instance. Communication between teammates are limited. But you can try their program and see if that will help you in your memory projects. Its free and open to all denominations and you can join a project with your church or make your own group.

If you do make a Group you have to have at least 3 people active in it to be seen on the "group leader board" I'll join your group if you want and then all you'll need is one more, which I hope you will get from your church, Lord willing.

Anyway these are just a couple ideas popping up.

    2. Thanks! My husband and I head up a Scripture Memory Challenge at our church each year. It ends this coming Sunday. After we have a time of recognition and sharing, I'm going to announce "the John challenge". I'll let you know how it goes. Hopefully I'll get at least one person besides my husband to join in. I loved your idea about getting a group of people to learn it together and being able to perform different parts of it.

I'll definitely take you up on your offer to memorize a verse for every one that I do! Are you planning on going back to Mark?

  3. Hey John Project - I am so excited! I made the announcement at my church today and had an overwhelming outpouring of support. So far, there have been 12 people who have made a serious commitment to join me and many more are thinking about it! I have you to thank for the assurance in knowing that it indeed can be done!

  4. John,
I know God has called me to memorize the book of John about 8 years ago and I've languished. I've only been able to memorize nearly the first chapter. It's been so difficult because although I feel called, I also feel alone in this amazing journey. Please lift me up in prayer and please extend any wisdom God has given you on how to accomplish this major feat. I LOVE GOD'S WORD and I do want to continue memorizing but I feel so defeated and could use a lot of support. Finding your blog on google is such an encouragement!!! 7 months....wow! Just reading those simple words empowered me and made me smile. I CAN do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.

I have said a prayer for you and also pray that you will once again resume your calling.

And I wanted to let you know that you are no longer alone my friend.

Your more than welcome to join us in our memorization projects.

Hedi is just finishing up John chapter one. If you want, you can check her blog out. http://memorizingjohn.blogspot.com/

And your welcome to hang with me as well.

I am at a Bible memory website which I have found to keep me encouraged in my memorization projects. Its not the same as having a "real" person to memorize with but it does help a lot.

If you want you can join me there At http://www.memverse.com

we can start a group called, the book of John or something.

Maybe we could get Heidi and her gang to join us there too!

If I were you and it is actually something I am doing, because the Book of Mark is a little bit harder to memorize than I thought would be, and that is, to try to get at least one verse a day in.

If you can do that with John, you will have at least 365 verses in a year.

Since you have John 1 already memorized, you are already 54 days ahead of schedule. And I am sure that if you continue to hang with us, we will all be more encouraged and get more done for Jesus.

      What do you think?

If you do happen to join me at Memverse, let me know if you need any help getting started and I can give you a quick rundown on the basics.

      O yeah, its free!
